rugs are made to be lived on. That means they get soiled . . . and sometimes bad things happen.
So at Pasha Rugs we are always ready to help you extend their life with cleaning and repair services. And we ship anywhere in the U.S.
Small tears or breaks can lead to bigger problems so repairs should be done as soon as possible. We can usually reweave sections damaged by pets, moths or just wear and tear. We can replace fringe and in some cases even whole sections. We can also cut down rugs that are too large. And we can often restore rugs damaged by water or smoke.
Smaller rugs can be brought or shipped to our store. Or we can pick-up if you prefer. Just call to discuss the problem and make arrangements for service (609) 397-5434.
GENERAL CARE TIPS
Handmade rugs should be vacuumed or swept once a week to lift loose dirt. Take care that the fringe does not get caught in the vacuum roller and that you vacuum with the nap rather than against it. If the vacuum has a power brush make sure it doesn't pull the pile off the rug (a soft brush is better). Regular cleaning will help prevent moth problems.
Rotating the rug occasionally helps distribute wear evenly and will also extend the life of your rug.
Small repairs should be made as soon as you notice any damage. A quick mending with heavy thread and a large needle can often prevent more extensive damage.
Spot cleaning is best done with a little water and mild soap. Test first for colorfastness and don't let the rug remain wet. A fan or hairdrayer on a cool setting can help dry the rug. If possible lift the rug so as to dry the underside as well. This is particularly important in humid climates where mildew is a problem.
